Maitri (pronounced like ‘my-tree’) is a Sanskrit word that means loving-kindness or benevolent friendship. I chose it as the name of my consulting business because it reflects the spirit I bring to my work-
one of compassion, collaboration, and genuine care for the people and communities I serve.
It’s about approaching challenges with empathy and building solutions that are not just effective, but also thoughtful.
About Me
Carly, originally from New England, earned her BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Colorado. She then joined the US Navy as one of the first women to serve onboard nuclear submarines. She brought her strong experience in operations, crisis management and leadership to the construction management industry where she has successfully managed projects in various industries including schools, Class A offices, highly specialized R&D facilities, restaurants and even a brewery. Her pioneering spirit, diverse experience and ability to foster team collaboration are key to ensuring the success of every project.
Schools require a thoughtful approach, including work on occupied sites with active learning throughout construction. Due to site constraints, it was determined a modular addition would be the best solution to add capacity to Kirkland Middle School. This 8 classroom, 13,000 SF building includes single user restrooms, 2 science rooms and a culinary classroom as well as a fully secured courtyard so students can safely transit between buildings during passing periods. While this site is beautifully situated in a small neighborhood, it provided challenges with getting the 17 modules safely on campus. We were fortunate to have a great partner in City of Kirkland who provided assistance with storage and ROW permits.
Corporate Class A office projects involve significant stakeholder management, lease negotiations and due diligence to ensure project success. Carly has worked on building out sections and floors within fully occupied towers as well as due diligence site assessments to inform leasing strategies for long term viability. Project locations ranged from SLU and SoDo to Redmond and Tacoma, requiring collaboration with various jurisdictions and landlords to ensure timely delivery.

Sheraton Kitchen Refresh
This project entailed a major renovation of an existing restaurant space inside the Sheraton Grand Seattle on 7th & Pike. To keep the hotel operations separated and fully functional, we also needed to refresh an existing kitchen space to support in house functionality with no gap in operations. With many surprise existing conditions, lighting delays, and other challenges, it took a major team effort with the design & operations team (both out of state) to get across the finish line for a Memorial Day opening weekend! This vibrant and unique venue helps bring life back to downtown Seattle.
As Pike Brewing Company expanded, it was time to combine & enlarge their brewing operations and SoDo warehouse into a new, larger space. As I learned, breweries require heavy MEP coordination, extensive permitting and intensive owner vendor coordination to bring together an efficient final product. Cheers to many more years of Pike Brewing, a Seattle staple!
